Betty is an incredibly sweet family dog who's just missing a family. This devoted girl would love a home where she can spend lots of time with her family - she’s an absolute sucker for playing with her people, big or small! If the kids want to dress her up, she's in and will love the craziest outfit they can find. Or maybe you want to dress her up for a cute Instagram photo with bunny ears- she's your girl. Once dress-up time is over, Betty would love to spend time outdoors with you, seeking out any new adventures or just walking around the neighborhood. This fun-loving girl is looking for an active home with a fenced-in yard. She enjoys going on 2-4 mile leash walks and does a great job as a solo dog, but is just as happy with a sibling. She doesn't pull, enjoys watching the wildlife, and ignores the other dogs on the walk.  She would love to go on hikes and be your partner on outdoor adventures. As much as she loves walks, Betty strongly prefers privacy for her bathroom activities and is reluctant to do her business while on the leash, so having an enclosed yard is a must. Who doesn't prefer a bit of privacy? 

 

Betty has a zest for life and a lot of enthusiasm. Throughout her time with foster owners, Betty has bonded quickly with the female head of household and less so with the male head of household. She is tolerant and can become comfortable with men but consistently prefers females. Betty is an absolute sweetheart and is great with kids as young as 18 months. She has incredible patience and loves to feed off of and match their energy.

 

Betty knows sit, come, and lie down (which she prefers to do with her belly up). She loves ear scratches, belly rubs, and stealing sticks of butter off the counter. Betty happily goes to her sleeping area at bedtime and is quiet until let out in the morning. She is happy to be crated when her family goes out but prefers to be with them when they are home. Betty is a herding dog mix - Belgian Malinois, Collie, and Samoyed, and does exhibit herding behaviors, especially when a new person is in the home. It would be a plus if you have experience with a herding breed and are able to give this sweet girl patience, activity, and companionship.
