My name is Colby and I am a 3-year old Aussie-Doodle. For the first 3 years of my life I lived outside, sometimes in the nice warm weather, but oftentimes in the cold, wet weather. I never wore a collar, but everyone knew me. I used to get very little attention from my hoomans, so I decided to go looking for adventure by escaping my backyard. I always went back, but I often got out. On one of those cold days when I got away, a really wonderful lady rescued me and brought me into her warm home. My original owners moved and said they did not want to take me with them. So the nice lady said she would take care of me.
I get along well with other doggies and with hoomans, small ones and big ones, but I am afraid of cats. I really like my new doggie bros. We get along quite well. I am very sweet, and would love to be around kids and other doggies like me. I am so smart that I already know some commands like Sit and Come.
I really appreciate the life of luxury! Going outside in a big backyard is fun, but I am definitely enjoying a warm, soft home to play and snooze in. I took to inside-living quite quickly. I am proud of myself, because I already knew that I had to potty outside. I love all the toys and attention that I get now. I love finding all the soft places to lay on, but I haven’t really figured out furniture. I see my doggie bros getting on the couches, but I am not sure if I should do that yet. I also love my kennel, it’s a safe place for me, just tell me to kennel up and I know what to do.
My new mom says I am almost ready to go to my to a new home, and I’m really excited to get my own new furever home. If you have squeaky toys and little stuffies, this would be fantastic. A fenced backyard would be best, but I am pretty smart, so you might want to have a secure gate latch that I can’t learn.
