A Better English Setter Rescue

Meet Daphne.  She is a young English Setter - Poodle mix.  She is small, about 35 pounds.  She was rescued from a "breeder" situation.

When she arrived at her foster home she was very scared and stressed.  She was able to decompress within a day.  As days passed she learned how to do steps, learn what grass was and how to go from a cautious walk around the yard to full sprint zoomies.  She's discovered the joy of running around, playing with other dogs and playing with a ball.  She has learned the happiness of snuggling on the couch and getting loved on.

She is crate trained and almost complete with house training.  She is curious about cats, will bark when they pass her crate, but she is not aggressive towards cats and has learned to respect kitty claws.

She does have a small bit of separation anxiety.  She will bark for a short time when foster mom leaves.  So a single family home would be best.  A home with a fenced yard and another friendly dog she can play with and learn from would be great.

She would probably do best in a home that is not busy and doesn't have small children.  She is cautious of new people.  It took a few days for her to warm up to foster mom.  She will need leash training.  

Daphne is super cute.  She will need periodic grooming to keep her curly coat under control, so keep that in mind.​
