Hello, my name is Oliver and I'm a sweet gentle natured 1 year old very handsome boy. I love being outside in my fenced in my yard, playing and wrestling with my foster sisters. I have a high prey drive and love searching the yard for squirrels, and any other animal who happens to pass by. I still have that puppy energy, so I need an active family to keep me both mentally and physically stimulated. When I'm not outside I love to snuggle on the couch or chair with my foster dad or stare out the window keeping an eye out for anything moving in the yard. While my foster dad has a doggy door giving me total access to outside, I was potty trained at my first home, and I am a very vocal when I want to go out. I do not do well being on a tie down outside and will bark until I am released. Also my first family tried to contain me with an invisible fence, even with me getting shocked, I constantly escaped, therefore, I'd love my forever home to have a large fenced in yard, a doggy door would be a huge plus.
While my foster dad gives us all free range of the house, I have been crate trained, but I don’t like it and will let you know. However, having free range of the house, being a puppy, so a house full of chew toys to keep me occupied would be great.
I love to stretch out and take over the bed at night, but after some whining, I will sleep in the crate. I haven’t been tested with cats or kids. Because of my high prey drive my foster doesn’t think cats would be a good idea. He also believes I will be good with kids 10 and up.
I know how to sit and shake. I am “ok” with coming when called, unless I am focused on something in or outside the yard, then all bets are off. I like car rides. We are working on my leash skills, seeing that I tend to be a strong puller.
Best of all, I love getting my ears rubbed and like to give sweet doggy kisses.
I am looking for my forever home, who will shower me with love and affection for life.
