Jack is an adventure seeker! He is 9 years old, but this fella is still active and doesn’t let anything slow him down. He is always game for a car ride or a walk, and does both very well. He spends a lot of time with the teenager in his foster home, and he loves to cuddle. He is quite content as long as he is near one of his people. He is vocal in a talkative way, but doesn’t bark much. He will carry on lengthy ‘conversations’ with his foster mom and foster (teen) sister.

Jack is currently fostered in a home with a Pit Bull and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, as well as cats. He gets along with the dogs but doesn’t choose to interact with them much. He prefers not to have to compete with them for attention. Jack does like the cats, though. For a while, he chased the cats, thinking that they were playing. After a couple of weeks, though, he decided to ignore the cats as they do not engage with him and do not want to play.

He is still working on basic commands, but he is smart and eager to please! He walks well on a leash and enjoys his walks. Jack is house broken and uses a doggy door at his foster home. He is crate trained, and is crated when his foster family isn’t home, when he is fed, and at night.

Jack has a heart murmur and has been evaluated by a veterinary cardiologist. His murmur does not slow him down at all, and we are told that his heart has not enlarged or become damaged. Given that his condition is not very advanced, the cardiologist said that no medication is needed, but they recommended a heart-healthy diet. They advised an annual evaluation to make sure that Jack’s heart issues are not progressing.
