May isn’t ready to slow down!

At 12 years old, this English Setter has already spent most of her life doing what she knows best—being a plantation hunting dog. But now she’s looking for a different kind of home, and she has plenty of life and energy left for the next chapter.

May lived in a kennel for most of her life, so she’s still learning what it means to be a household dog. She’s sweet, good-natured, and eager to figure things out. She can be nervous when meeting new people, but once she gets comfortable, her personality starts to shine.

She’s also discovering some of the simple pleasures of home life. May enjoys playing with little stuffed toys and will happily make a couple of passes at a game of fetch. She has shown no aggression toward the cat and is doing well learning the routines of a house. She does well with routine and appreciates having a crate available for quiet time.

And while May may be 12, she is not ready for the rocking chair. She’s active, curious, and still enjoys getting out and doing things. She would make a great companion for someone who appreciates an older dog with plenty of energy and a lifetime of experience.

May doesn’t need someone to feel sorry for her. She needs someone who sees what she still has to offer.

If you’re looking for an English Setter with a little mileage, a lot of personality, and plenty of life left in her, May might be your girl.
