Meet Nana! - a retired hunting dog, Nana is a cuddle-bug and loves to be petted, demonstrating lots of affection. She is a sweet velcro dog and will follow her people everywhere. Nana will be happy to snuggle up in bed with you or curl up on the couch. She cherishes her cuddle time and loves being a couch potato, watching TV!

Nana is playful and bouncy and has a really cute personality. She has a lot of energy and gets excited, but also calms down quickly. When she gets excited, she will do circles and spins - especially at mealtime! However, she is fairly quiet, and doesn't bark much.

Indoors, Nana will occasionally go find a sock to carry around, but she shows little interest in toys. Nana is fine sleeping in the crate if that is what you would want. She crates easily, and her foster mom crates her when she leaves the house. Outside, Nana also ignores toys. However, she enjoys exploring outdoors, running in the yard, and loves to chase squirrels.

Since Nana has recently become an indoor dog, she is still learning indoor commands. She is smart and is learning fast. She even listens to her human foster brother who just turned 8 years old.

Nana forms strong bonds and can be a bit jealous of her favorite person's attention when another dog gets too close. Because of this, Nana might thrive best in a home with only one or two other dogs. Once she knows she is loved and has all the attention she needs, she should be fine with other dogs. However, she would also thrive as an only-dog where she can soak up all of the love. We are unable to cat-test Nana.

Nana hasn't had much practice walking on a leash, but she is getting the hang of it. She will stop when her foster mom stops, looking to her for direction. Nana will probably do well with a no-pull harness and some more practice!

She would benefit from having a securely fenced yard, as she may climb a 3-4 ft chain link fence or one with horizontal slats. She respects a higher fence and would most likely do well with an invisible fence. A fenced yard is not a requirement for Nana, though.

If you're looking for a dog who will be your loyal companion and devoted best friend, Nana is eager to meet you. She's ready to give her whole heart to a loving family.
