A Better English Setter Rescue

Hi, I am Penelope but you can call me Penny, all of my friends do!

I came into rescue from a breeder who did not want to breed setter-doodles anymore. Thank goodness because now I can have humans who pay attention to me and take good care of my needs.

When I got to my foster mom’s home, I was really scared and shy. My foster mom had to leave a leash dragging on me so she could get me when she wanted me to go out, get my dinner or go into my crate. That lasted for several days, but I was still scared and didn’t go willingly to any humans for quite some time. I finally started going to my foster mom and dad on my own and found they were really nice. They give me belly rubs and ear rubs - what could be better!?!

I have always loved to play with my doggie sisters and brothers, we have a lot of fun running around and wrestling. I really love them.

I am crate-trained, I sleep in my crate (my safe place) at night. I always take my bone to bed with me. I love bones!! I am working on going to the bathroom outside, some days are better than others. I will need someone to continue working with me on potty manners.

Older kids would be best for me as I am still a bit shy and very skittish. My foster mom says I will get better, but she says it will take time to get used to all of the noises in a home.

P.S. I will need to see a groomer now and then because my hair grows out and goes all crazy. I want to stay beautiful!
