Wilma is an extraordinary girl. She was found with her sister Betty as a stray in Georgia and ended up in a high-kill shelter. These girls wrapped their paws around the staff, were very loving, and would get excited when people stopped to pet and give them attention. They both left the shelter and are loving the indoor life with their foster.

This sweet love bug wants to be as close to her human(s) as possible, and her favorite spot is curled up by your feet or beside you on the sofa. When she is awake, she is very sweet and loves to give kisses. I have never seen a dog more excited and happy to see me. When I come home, no matter how long I have been gone, her whole body wiggles; she barks with excitement and is beside herself. I open the door to let her out, and she jumps off the steps and turns around as if to say I am so happy you are home.

Wilma loves her human but also enjoys playing with her fur-siblings.  She is often found playing with my younger setter and she even plays with my 20 lb terrier mix. I also have a grumpy senior setter and Wilma is willing to put up with her antics and will "turn the other cheek" and walk away. She does not try to steal any other dog's food and she takes treats very gently. I have one very chill, large cat that Wilma sleeps with on the sofa. They get along just fine. My other cats are a bit more skittish and if they run, she will chase them so we are suggesting that she not live in a home with cats.

This beautiful girl does have a lot of energy and likes to keep busy. She loves being outdoors with her person and her fur-siblings.  She has been working on her leash walking and doing a great job! Wilma loves long walks and would make a great hiking or running partner. This girl really enjoys being active.

She is house-trained and would love a home where she can continue to learn more indoor skills.

If you are looking for a loving, fun, intelligent, love bug of a dog, Wilma may be your girl! Wilma is excited to meet her forever family and fill their home with love.
